“Here at Anchor we pride ourselves on having our residents at the heart of everything we do, every decision we make and this of course includes food and nutrition.  Having been offered the opportunity to test the care machine (Hallde CC-34) and the milkshake machine (Roband DM31R) gave us an ideal opportunity to see how the two machines performed in a care home environment.

 

Two of our homes, Westhill Park in Kettering and Glenvale Park in Wellingborough were more than enthusiastic to get involved, the preparation machine was found welcomed by the catering team and it literately cut prep times in half (or more), home cut chips were made in quick time with the residents enjoying “real chips” as they should be, vegetable preparation that can be time-consuming was also tested and our staff found the machine easy to use and super-fast.

 

Catering teams were able to use the dicing attachment to cut a level 6 IDDSI soft and bite size diet to the correct criteria, creating consistency of product and caterers gaining back valuable time for presentation, in short it was a success with the staff and residents.

 

The milkshake maker was used as an activity with our residents directly hands on mixing their favourite flavours, the benefits being two fold, resident interaction and engagement (having fun!!) and being able to create fortified milkshakes that will help those who require a high calorie diet, it also added a focal point to snack and hydration stations leading to interest and more use of the machine.”
